On 23rd May 2024, 1st class pupils from Scoil Mhuire, Allenwood, were the first children to enter the newly opened Allenwood Playground. At a cost of around €650,000 it is the biggest amenity investment in this area ever. Thanks to all involved and everyone that supported the project over its lifetime. It is located on…
I received confirmation recently that a new pedestrian crossing on the Bluetown side of Allenwood Cross is currently undergoing detailed designs, along with traffic lights on all four approach roads. I had a walkaround with the council engineer who looks after bus shelters in Kilmeague last week, to look at options for new bus shelters there. We have some ideas for potential locations and are going to start the process of planning them now. Given the popularity of the 821 Local Link it is important…

Well done to my cousin, Elaine, who held a very successful coffee morning in Carbury on Saturday morning. She was raising funds to support the great work of Carbury Carers, who she volunteers with. Over €1,000 was raised, which is a very good morning’s work.
Thanks to Eamonn Sheridan and his crew for the repair work done recently at the entrance to Allenwood Church and also around Allen Church. If you need any tarmacdam work done then please support this excellent local company. Eamonn Sheridan Groundworks Ltd – Tarmacadam Contractor
At a recent LBDC Community Alert meeting where planning for the Spring Clean in Lullymore, Drumsru, Barnaran and Cappanargid took place. Our local community Gardaí were present also with some helpful advice as always. One of the longest established community groups that I work with in my area and I always look forward to meeting with them.
Members of Balyna Foróige had a big stall at the Balyna Parish Spring Craft Fair yesterday. The group made some nice items which they then sold on the day. It is great to see young people getting involved in their community events. Well done to all of them and their Foróige leaders.
A community effort is ongoing to protect Carbury Castle from falling into ruin. Our initial efforts to secure funding have been unsuccessful, but it is important that we don’t give up. Learn more at https://carburycastle.ie

The total amount raised for The Asthma Society of Ireland was over €800 and Esther would have been very proud. Thanks to everyone who came down to support them and to everyone that helped by baking and…
