A great response this weekend to our call to action from Allenwood Tidy Towns and Ballyteague Community Text Alert to clean up the northern road by Ballyteague Forest. This was done as part of the An Taisce National Spring Clean and Kildare County Council’s Lilywhite Cleanup Day.
Situated midway between Nursery Road in Allenwood South and Ballyteague, the road has become a hot spot for fly-tipping and was well in need of a good tidy up. A skip was filled in the grounds of Ballyteague GFC and a second pile of rubbish has been removed by Kildare County Council.
We hope to have more frequent cleanups in this area and I am hoping for joint efforts between Allenwood Tidy Towns and the LDBC Community Group in Lullymore to tackle the main Allenwood to Lullymore Road, near where I live.
