The promotional video for this year’s All Ireland Turf Footing competition in Ballyteague GFC was excellent. It includes some great footage of the 1934 Turf Cutting competition which was officially opened by Éamon de Valera and took place in Allenwood South.
The event was my first official engagement as an elected representative and there was a great crowd on the day and a lovely monument about the 1934 turf cutting competition was unveiled.
Well done to Frank Moran and all involved on another successful event.
