Following a meeting with the Gardaí at Downings Cross, our district engineer arranged to trial these raised markings which have just been installed on the approach roads. The plan is to complement this work with additional road signage in the coming weeks.
The bends on the R409 can make it difficult to check for oncoming traffic when coming from the Prosperous and Healy’s Bridge directions. These raised markings should help to reduce the speed of approaching traffic and make it safer to cross.
