I visited Derrinturn Community Garden today with Fr. Fitzpatrick to see the damage that was done by vandals earlier this week. It is unacceptable to have the work of community volunteers willfully destroyed and I will work with the volunteers to help restore the garden and their biodiversity projects.
I have written to Superintendent Curley in the Garda District Office asking for an escalation in how we deal with the anti-social behaviour in the area around the garden and St. Conleth’s NS. If you see anyone in the school grounds or the community garden with no good reason to be there, please contact Carbury Garda Station at 046-9553002.
