Allenwood and Derrinturn were identified as ‘Priority One’ in terms of needing Open Space, as part of the last Kildare County Open Space Strategy in 2011. Despite this, a decade has passed and both villages still lack adequate open space and neither have a playground.
I raised the issue in my submission for the next Open Space and Outdoor Recreation Strategy (2021 – 2031) and I am asking for the situation to be pursued more aggressively.
