I’m very lucky to have Lodge Bog as my back garden. One good thing about the pandemic is that it has allowed me to explore the area a lot. My favourite spots are the areas which have been rewetted by Bord na Móna, and the intact raised bog which is owned by the Irish Peatland Conservation Council.
Both areas are used by BirdWatch Ireland Kildare Branch to breed red-listed birds such as Curlew and Lapwing.
