Our new County Development Plan for Kildare will come into effect soon. I was working hard on this last year and one of my key areas of focus has been on the plans for future peatways.
The route of the old railway line that served Carbury and Edenderry stations has been identified as one possible peatway. It could potentially link up Carbury and Balyna areas with the Royal Canal Greenway and it is still clearly visible on aerial photos of Carbury Bog.
