We have been busy in Ticknevin recently. Minister Martin Heydon paid a visit to the school at the end of last year and I met with residents this week to go through work needed on roads and new and existing signage. We have already made some progress on these issues thanks to the good work of the local council roads team.
Last week, Waterways Ireland informed me that they would repair the canal bank to the lock which was in a bad state. I know the repairs are temporary but the Grand Canal Greenway will see this towpath get a proper resurfacing job.
Well done to Jim and the Ticknevin Community Group on securing a new defibrillator at the school. Thanks to Principal Nora Lynch for supporting this very important piece of equipment. Training for the defibrillator will take place on 12th March and you can find details on the group’s Facebook page.
