Last Monday night, 10th September, the new West Kildare Branch of Fine Gael was launched in Glennons of Allenwood.
The formation meeting was chaired by Martin Heydon T.D. Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, and attended also by Cllr. Mark Stafford and Cllr. Brendan Weld.
Deputy Heydon and Cllr. Stafford have been very supportive of the projects I have been involved with and both attended the public meeting regarding the playground for Allenwood in June 2017. Unfortunately Cllr. Stafford will no longer be representing our area next year but hopefully we will have Cllr. Weld to replace him. From my conversations with members of the Timahoe playground group and Coill Dubh AFC, I know that Brendan is supportive of similar projects to those we are currently working on in our own area.
This new branch will allow us to keep track of all the projects ongoing in the Killinagh, Lullymore, Allenwood, Coill Dubh, Robertstown, Kilmeague and Ballyteague areas and get the necessary support from our public representatives when we need it. Our first action as a branch was to produce a report for the councillors which we issued to them at the meeting. It is available for viewing below. The Facebook page for the branch isĀ https://www.facebook.com/westkildarefinegael/.
