Just back from a walk around Ticknevin and the old Lullymore Briquette Factory. I am delighted to see that work has started on the new walk and cycle way along the edge of the site.
Myself and Cllr. Daragh Fitzpatrick met out here last year, with a representative from Bord na Móna, to seek assurances that established walking routes along the Grand Canal towpath to Ticknevin, and along the perimeter of the Briquette Factory would remain when the site was sold.
As a regular user of the route I am happy to see that those assurances are being delivered now.
