The new footpath to Bluetown in Allenwood is officially done, following the moving of the telephone poles yesterday.
A massive improvement in road safety for the people of Bluetown who are now able to reach the local services and the school in the village centre safely.
This project was first looked at by Cllr. Daragh Fitzpatrick, Cllr. Brendan Weld and myself over three years ago and thanks to NTA funding of over €220,000 and the work of our council roads team, this long needed footpath is now complete.
Thanks to all the landowners for cooperating with the council on this. Without their assistance, this would not have been done.
