Last month I attended a meeting by Broadford Area Residents Association where I learnt about plans to fill the old quarry pit at Ballinderry with waste.
Today, I made a submission to the EPA in relation to this application. The lakes in the pit are now home to wild birds and, in my opinion, it would be illegal to fill the pit and destroy the habitat of the wildlife now living here.
