Thanks to the Local Studies department of Kildare County Library for digitising a 1966 booklet that was produced by the ESB about Allenwood Power Station.
I was lucky enough as a schoolchild to get a free guided tour of the power station by Jim ‘Screw’ Cross, when myself and my friend arrived unannounced at the reception area to ask for some information about how the station worked.
