Residents on the private section of Malone Way Road, Allenwood South, paid a contribution to the Local Improvement Scheme, to have that part resurfaced in recent years. This week, the roads team of Kildare County Council completed resurfacing on the public section also, at a cost of €67,500.
Whilst the majority of the roads budget is rightly spent on regional roads, it is good to see our area engineer allocating funds to local roads too. This balanced approach means that it will take time to get to all local roads that need to be done, but it is the correct approach.
Well done to the residents of Malone Way Road who took the initiative and organised to get the private road done. I am delighted to see the job now complete.
