Robertstown GAA ground was officially named the ‘Maurice Musgrave Park’ at the weekend. Well done to Declan Percival and the club’s committee for honouring their long standing member and current joint President in this manner.
I was delighted to attend the centenary dinner dance, where I met Maurice, who co-wrote a brilliant book that tells the history of the club over the last 100 years.
Many of us in Allen Parish will remember Maurice getting us in order for the various races at the Parish Sports every year. I recently learned that Maurice was involved in starting the annual Parish Sports many years ago.
